TPU and Embroidery Solutions: Hot Topics in the UV Printer Market

Recently, TPU and embroidery solutions have become hot topics in the UV printer market. This article will share insights about these two emerging technologies.

  • High-Power UV Lamp

Compared to traditional UV DTF sticker solutions, TPU and embroidery applications require higher-power UV lamps. The power requirement increases from 80 watts to 160 watts, doubling the UV lamp intensity. TPU and embroidery solutions now also offer a varnish option, which can be applied by adding an additional printhead.

Both TPU and embroidery technologies create 3D effects, with a tangible ink texture that can be felt when touched. TPU film features a glue backing for easy application. Typically, TPU solution printer machines are equipped with two printheads for white ink, significantly improving efficiency when printing white colors and creating visible relief effects. After printing, the designs can be precisely contour-cut using a plotter machine.

  • Super Soft UV Ink

UV DTF and imitation embroidery solutions can use the same type of super soft ink. Compared to UV DTF crystal labels, the key material differences lie in the use of ultra-flexible ink and special AB film. The temperature needs to be lowered to 50-60 degrees Celsius, and the pressing time is limited to a maximum of 8 seconds, enabling quick transfers. However, imitation embroidery is not resistant to water washing and can be used for printing on TPU engraving film. Simply replace the material with TPU.

The most significant difference between UV DTF and imitation embroidery/TPU solutions is the UV light requirement. The latter requires a larger, specially designed UV light system.
